Two men on a motorcycle were arrested a few hours after they robbed a 17-year-old student on Tuesday in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.
PO3 Jason Del Campo of Talisay City police said they arrested Jay Bacarisas and Roger Tablate, both residents at barangay Bulacao, Talisay City, when they chanced upon them cruising along the area on their motorcycle with plate no. GD 8867.
A third cohort managed to get off the motorcycle and escape.
The female student of a Cebu City university told police that she was heading home at around 9 p.m. when three men on a motorcycle , one of them armed with a gun, robbed her.
The robbers took her bag with her cell phone worth at least P5,000 but she was able to jot down the plate number of the motorcycle.
This information helped police track down the suspected robbers and arrest two of them.
Del Ocampo said they also found two sachets believed to contain illegal drugs from the suspects, however, they failed to recover the stolen items from the suspects.
The suspects were detained at the Talisay police station detention cell pending the filing of charges.
