A DRUG pusher who ranked third in the drug watch list of the Mandaue City police died after being shot in the head while sleeping inside his home in Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City by unidentified assailants at past 9 p.m. last Wednesday.

Godofredo Bas Jr., a resident of F. B. Cabahug St., Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City was unable to make it when rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center at past 3 a.m. yesterday.

PO3 Marino Lofranco of the Centro police precinct said Bas’s common-law partner told them that she was at the kitchen while Bas slept at the sala when she heard gunfire and she saw him bleeding profusely with a wound in the head.

She asked help from the neighbors and rushed Bas to the Mandaue City Hospital, but he was later transferred to the VSMMC in Cebu City where he died.

Bas reportedly surrendered to the police during their Oplan TokHang.

Lofranco said they didn’t receive reports that Bas had returned to drug dealing. Bas had been jailed for theft cases.
