Cebu Daily News (CDN), in partnership with Parkmall, engaged with the children of different schools in Cebu through this year’s CDN School Fair at the West Lobby of Parkmall last July 15 to 17, 2016. The 3-day activity aimed to provide enjoyment and new knowledge to the particpants. At the same time, the event was an avenue for students meet with other children and enhance their social and interpersonal skills.
Over 200 students participated avarious activities organized just for them. These include story telling sessions by Basadours and OMF Literature, karaoke contest, ice cream eating contest, book swap activities, cooking demonstrations, basic watercolor workshops, audio-visual presentations and variety shows by the event’s exhibitors.
Kids had a lot of fun spending time at Cebu Daily News’ slamdunk, thanks to Sparkles Balloons. Mall-goers watched live cooking demonstrations and were treated to delectable and savory food samplings by MOST Institute of Culinary Arts and International School for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management (ISCAHM). A student of St. Paul Learning Center of Guadalupe gave a beautiful song number while entertaining the kids during their watercolor activity. Students from St. Dominic Savio International School showcased their talents through a variety show.
With the support of Xtreme Magic Sing, the kids showed off their singing skills and won prizes from CDN. Cebu Daily News’ very own Read Aloud activity entertained the students as the story about “Lala Burara” was read to them.
The fun kept going on and on as the Melona Ice Cream Bar eating contest caused the students to have brain freeze, inevitably letting the students show hilarious facial expressions that increased the hype of the crowd.
Together with their parents, the youngsters also grabbed the opportunity to take photos with Siloy, CDN’s official mascot, at Infinipique’s photo booth to capture this exhilarating opportunity.
