Tuburan fire kills septuagenarian

A 74-year-old woman died after her house made of light materials was gutted by fire last Monday in Barangay Can-an, Tuburan town.

The victim was identified as Inocencia Caputulan, widow, who was alone in the house when the fire took place. The charred remains of Caputulan were found at the foot of the stairway of her two-story house.

Police and fire personnel went to the area to conduct investigation. Fire Officer 2 Rosel Alinbravo of Tuburan fire station pegged the damage of the fire at P15,000.

Fire investigator theorized that the fire was caused by electrical spark from the main switch.
