Oplan Tokhang goes to subdivision

THE Guadalupe police yesterday conducted another round of Oplan Tokhang in a subdivision along B. Rodriguez Street, Cebu City.

The policemen led by Chief Insp. Jose Gesto, chief of Guadalupe Police Station, knocked on the houses inside Espina Village and distributed leaftlets and calling cards bearing the police hotline numbers.

Gesto said all police stations are required to extend their Oplan Tokhang to subdivisions and condominiums.

“This is just the beginning. We will visit other subdivisions and condominiums in the coming days,” he said.

Gesto said they have fewer targets in subdivisions and condominiums, but they still need to convince drug users and pushers living in these areas to surrender to the police.

“I appeal to those who have knowledge on any illegal drug activities inside subdivisions and condominiums to inform our station so we can act on it immediately,” he said.

“Without the help of the community, the police can only do so little. We need your help,” he added.
