Two high-risk detainees from Malaybalay, Bukidnon, were transferred to Cebu City Jail after reportedly threatening the lives of two people handling their case.
Judge Mirabeaus Undaluk of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 8 of Malaybalay City approved the order of detention transfer for Lumna Bongcarao and Nicolas Ellorin from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Malaybalay City to Cebu City Jail in response to the petition for change of venue of Malaybalay City Prosecutor III Ma. Almira Tomampos.
As stated on the case summary and status report, Tomampos petitioned for the transfer of the detainees after it was discovered that Bongcarao and Ellorin were behind the separate threat incidents against presiding judge Emmanuel Pascal of RTC 10 of Malaybalay City and Tomampos sometime in April and May this year.
The two suspects were arrested on October 4, 2015 at Laguitas, Malaybalay City, for selling and possessing alleged shabu.
In a phone interview, Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak said the BJMP and the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) are now crafting a security plan to safeguard the city from whatever risks the detainees might cause.
Tumulak said that Bongcarao ranks third in the list of top 15 most-wanted drug personalities in Malaybalay.
Case hearing of the suspects is set on September 16.
