Cebu Pacific advised passengers not to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cell phone on board their aircraft starting Sept. 11, Sunday until further notice.

In a post at their official Facebook page, Cebu Pacific Air advised passengers not to stow the device in checked baggage.

But passengers are allowed to hand carry their mobile devices so long as it is turned off at all times inside the aircraft.

Cebu Pacific Air is one of many airlines that has banned the use and charging of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile devices in their flights.

Multiple reports of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone catching fire due to its rechargeable lithium battery came out earlier, forcing Samsung to issue a recall of all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices two weeks after the phone was launched.
