USC beats USJ-R in Cesafi volleyball tilt

The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors bucked a slow start to beat the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars with a score of 20-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-23 to advance into the semifinal round of the CESAFI men’s volleyball tournament earlier today at the USC Main Gym.

With the victory, the Warriors surged into the top of the standings with a 4-0 (win-loss) card and more importantly secured a spot in the next round while USJ-R dropped to 2-1 (win-loss).

Also in the men’s division, the University of the Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers broke into the win column with a 18-25, 29-27, 25-20, 25-17 triumph over the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters.

Action continues in the women’s division this afternoon as the SWU Lady Cobras look to keep their immaculate record intact as they battle the USPF Lady Panthers.

Also in women’s play, UC and CDU each target an elusive first win as they tangle at 3 p.m. while the USJ-R Lady Jaguars take on the USC Lady Warriors in the final game today
