Priests to speak before nurses in convention

A BATTERY of priests and religious will speak before nurses during the local annual convention of the Catholic Nurses Guild of the Philippines Cebu Chapter on September 23.

Now on its fifth year, the confab will be held on the fourth floor of the Dyno Finance Corp. Building on Juana Osmeña Street, Cebu City.

The program will start with a Holy Mass to be officiated by Fr. Cresenciano Ubod. The keynote address shall be given by Fr. Glenn Tito Pascual, C.Ss.R. of the Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, who will expound on the convention theme “Mercy and Compassion: Heeding God’s call.”

The convention is expected gather about 200 Catholic nurses and nursing students in Cebu.

Topics include “Nurses as shepherd” and “The role of nursing service in institutionalizing clinical pastoral care” by Fr. Erwin Lopez Pilario and Jovina Mardonia Fernandez, respectively.

Sharers of life changing experience are Paul Andrew Alia of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, Norma Hinoguin, a retired nursing administrator and Dr. Rosenie Coronado of St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital.
