STRONG winds toppled a palm tree which fell on a house and injured an eight year old girl in barangay Usmad, Argao Cebu at 9 pm last Tuesday.
The victim identified as Queensebel Sameron fractured her left thigh when the trunk of the palm tree fell on her while she was inside her home.
A team from the Argao municipal government and neighbors helped her out and she was brought to the nearest hospital, then to Cebu City for treatment.
Also in Argao town, a farmer died after falling off a coconut tree The wife of 47-year-old Felix Teofilo said she told him not to climb the coconut trees since they were slippery but he insisted.
Teofilo was supposed to gather coconuts to make coconut wine locally known as tuba.
