DESPITE being understaffed, the Provincial Health Office said it can service all drug surrenderers by tapping barangay health workers to augment their medical personnel in the field.

“After their seminars and trainings, PHO is aiming we can make one systematic way for rehabilitation,” PHO officer Niño Ismael Pastor said.

Pastor said that there are 8,000 barangay health workers and 6,000 midwives that can help rehabilitate drug users together with over 200 nurses, 67 municipal health workers and 127 doctors in the provincial and district hospitals.
