A JAIL officer of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding assailant in Barangay Guinsay, Danao City.
JO2 Celso Montalba died after he was shot in his head, chest and hand as he was heading to work in Barangay Dunguan on his motorcycle at past 7 a.m. yesterday, said PO3 Roselo Campo, desk officer of the Danao Police Station.
Campo said that Montalba had just dropped his kid at school when two men on a motorcycle rode side-by-side with his motorcycle with the backrider shooting him.
Campo, however, said that the killers left a piece of carton with the words written on it: “BJMP na pusher wag sundan ikaw ang sunod.”
He also said that responding policemen also found a medium-sized pack of suspected shabu from the victim’s pocket.
Campo also claimed that the victim was in their drug watch list.
He said they were still investigating the killing.
