PRINCE Albert Pagara will be showing his compatriots why he’s one of the fast-rising stars of the ALA boxing gym today when he fights in his hometown in the coming ABS-CBN Studio 23’s Boxing Idol II, scheduled Nov. 15 at the Maasin City Gym.

Pagara a native of Lib-og, Maasin City, will be facing a yet to be determined opponent in a scheduled 10-round bantamweight bout in the main event of the promotion being co-presented by the Maasin City Government and the ALA Boxing Promotions.

Pagara, a 17-year-old Super Flyweight contender, is currently sporting a flawless 9-0 (win-loss) card with seven knockout wins.

Currently being managed by Antonio Aldeguer, Pagara will be facing Manakane in the 124-lb. division in the main event.

His latest win came last Oct. 8, 2011 versus Shabani Madilu at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City, where he won via unanimous decision.

This boxing promotion will mark the first time that the undefeated Pagara will appear on a nationally televised bout that will be aired over ABS-CBN Studio 23 tentatively set on Nov. 30.

The Idol Boxing Series is aimed at enabling rising boxers to be highlighted on national television for their talents to be discovered.

It is said to be a stepping stone for upcoming boxing superstars to showcase their skills and later to be included in the regular and more prestigious Pinoy Pride Series.

The supporting event will feature another undefeated fighter Juren Labordo of Bacolod City against Demsey Manufoe of Surakarta, Indonesia in another 10-rounder.

In the preliminary bouts, Roma Rate of Mandaue City will clash with Reymond Tabogon of Misamis Oriental, while Brian Lobitania of Kitaotao, Bukidnon will encounter Nikong Calamba of Butuan City for eight rounds.
