THE PANTHERS surged to top of the standings as they notched their third straight win in the seventh season of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu with a 73–66 decision over the erstwhile undefeated Lions last Sunday night at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe.

Former MVP Neil Buot paced the defending champion Panthers with 24 points while Ronie Tenebro added 20 for the team, which has a clean 3-0 win-loss slate.

Clint Caritan led the Lions with 26 points, who dropped to 2-1.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, outlasted the Rams, 66–61, thanks to Sidney Boloc-Boloc’s 22-point performance.

Val Quiapo backed him up with 16 markers while reigning MVP Armando De Jesus carried the Rams with 33.

In the other game, the Sharks trounced the Stallion, 62–59.
