FOR the success of their anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu province in the second quarter of the year which led to the confiscation of nearly a kilo of illegal drugs, the Capitol released more than P1 million to the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and for the incentives of the more than a hundred Cebu provincial police officers involved in these operations.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, who led the awarding of the incentives, encouraged the provincial police officers to continue in their aggressive campaign against illegal drugs.

“We will support them in any way we can,” said Davide as he handed the incentives to the 110 police officers from seven cities and municipalities in the province at the Capitol social hall yesterday.

The incentives, which was released through the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) to the police officers, range from P2,000 to P10,000.

The Capitol also gave the PIB P1 million for their successful anti-illegal drugs campaign in the second quarter of the year where they helped confiscate 27.26 grams of illegal drugs or shabu in the 20 police operations.

Police officers from the cities of Talisay and Carcar and Dalaguete town in southern Cebu; the towns of San Francisco in Camotes Islands, Bantayan and Consolacion in northern Cebu; and Aloguinsan in midwestern Cebu received their incentives yesterday.

Senior Supt. Eric Noble, CPPO acting director, said he was happy with the Capitol’s assurance of a 100 percent support to the police force.

Noble, who thanked Davide for the provincial government’s support to the police, said the incentives would help and encourage police officers to work hard and exert more effort in their anti-illegal drugs campaign.
