Streaking Dragons sweep E-League hoop eliminations

There’s no slowing down for the Supportsave Dragons, who completed a clean sweep in the elimination round of the EVO League of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the CSC-C Gym.

Justin Marie Mier and Niño Belande combined forces to help the Dragons improve to 11–0 (win-loss) with an 86–60 trashing of the QBE Generals.

Mier piled up 19 points, nine rebounds, three steals and three assists while the ever-reliable Belande tallied 15 markers, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Gerald Mari Baritua and Ahlchie Ong also scored in double figures for Supportsave with 11 and 10, respectively.

Johnrey Girasol scored 19, Philip Villarin finished with 11 markers and 15 boards while Christopher James Durango and Jecon Bonsucan combined 21 points for the Generals, who tasted just their second loss in 11 matches.

In other EVO League games, the Dyninno Raptors nosed out the Kyocera Frontiers; the Teletech Titans nipped the Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 62–56; while the United Health Group Cobras scored a default win over the Blue Ocean Pirates.

Ellison Rivero led Dyninno’s seventh win in 10 games by firing 21 points. He was backed by Rainier Dominic Obenza and Ignatius Loyola, who produced 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Kyocera, which fell to 7–3, was led by Ariel Ramonito Edera, Eduardo Tuico Jr. and Junrey Cabrarrubias, who wound up with 17, 16 and 12, respectively.

Mark Roland Maxilom led the Titans’ second victory against nine losses with 18 points while Celso Jayme and Kim Dominic Losano donated 13 and 11.

Donald Stephen De Leon had 25 markers and 11 rebounds for the Hardbacks, who slipped to 4–7.

The Cobras, on the other hand, easily improved to 4–7 while the Pirates absorbed their seventh defeat with only three victories to show.
