Lexmark downs Teleperformance to get top playoff seeding in E-League
THE Lexmark Stallions took the number one seeding going into the playoffs after they tripped the Teleperformance All Stars, 72-68, at the close of the elimination round in the Elite Classic of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball last Sunday at the CSC-C Gym.
Sylvester Millevo fired 19 points, Vil Duero scattered 12 and Franco Angelo Cipriano collected 10 markers as the Stallions ended the eliminations with seven wins against a solitary loss.
Marcos Jungoy III scored 12 markers and James Lester Navaja had 11 for the All Stars, who finished the eliminations with a 5-3 (win-loss) slate.
The Wipro Tigers avoided a winless season as they snapped a seven-game slide with a 74-40 drubbing of the SSI Warriors.
The Tigers finished the eliminations with a 1-7 record, which was enough to give them the eighth and last playoff spot.
Brian Deodoro paced the Tigers with 16 points, Reinario Salibay donated 14 and Pol Alfeche contributed 13.
Jose Carlo Amimita scored 16 — the lone player to score in double figures for the Warriors, who crashed to 0-7.
As the top four seeds, Lexmark, defending champions Convergys (6-2), Accenture (5-3) and ePerformax Reds (5-3) will enjoy twice-to-beat incentives over their lower-ranked foes in the first round of playoffs, which will begin on Oct. 15.
In the EVO League, the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties finished the eliminations with a 68-65 win over The Results Spartans.

The Kyocera Frontiers, on the other hand, climbed to 8-3 following a dominant 67-42 triumph over the Atos Falcons.
Junrey Cabarrubias led the Frontiers with 20 points, while Steven Tan tossed in 12.
Reymund Ardiente netted 17 and John Rey Cabatingan had 10 for the Spartans, who slid to 4-7.
The top four seeds in the EVO League playoffs are Supportsave (11-0), QBE (9-2), Tech Mahindra and Kyocera.
