Bringing the feast closer to the doorstep of every Filipino is Hukad sa Golden Cowrie Cotabato at the Mall of Alnor. It is a welcome addition to the growing list of franchised restaurants and is the first pork-free branch in the country.

GOLDEN Cowrie and its mall-based brand Hukad sa Golden  Cowrie continue to expand across the Philippines with branches in Digos, Davao del Sur; Cavite; S Maison Mall at Metro Manila, and Mall of Asia, Pasay to open by December.

Having celebrated Cebuano value and flavor for 33 years, the Golden Cowrie  group aims to bring their ‘everyday feast’ to every city in the country. Its most recent addition is Hukad Cotabato, a growing testament to this commitment and to its strong capability to cater to the diverse tastes of the regions. It is the first Hukad branch that does not serve pork on its menu, instead highlighting and further developing favourites into non-pork versions, such as the Tofu and Bangus Sisig.

“We invest greatly in research and development, with our menu constantly evolving and adapting to not just market preferences but also to special dietary requirements as needed. It took us some time to position the Golden Cowrie brand in strategic locations around Visayas and Mindanao, but finding long-term partners who are the right fit were key and have enabled us to continuously grow the brand in terms of presence and reach.  What we offer apart from expertise and track record is strong support in terms of logistics and R&D.” shares Mr. Kenneth Kokseng, managing director and general manager of Golden Cowrie and Hukad.

By the end of 2016, there will be Golden Cowrie or Hukad in 31 locations in the country with 22 of these operated by franchisees. The company has also opened opportunities for franchising in the key cities of Cagayan De Oro, Dipolog, Iligan, Marbel in South Cotabato, Surigao, Ormoc, Manila, North and South Luzon.

Golden Cowrie started from an idea of integrating southern hospitality and authentic native dishes in a modern dining atmosphere.  Over the decades, the homegrown restaurant that started as a small eatery in 1982 has established itself as an institution for Filipino cuisine in Cebu serving generations of diners. It is the preferred venue for celebratory occasions and everyday moments with family and friends and has become the place to bring visitors from around the world to experience local cuisine and hospitality.
