Man shot dead

A 36-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead near his house in Sitio Seaweeds, Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City last Monday at around 7:30 p.m.

Neptune Berdin, jobless, sustained several gunshot wounds in the body and was brought to Lapu-Lapu City hospital where attending physician declared him dead.

PO2 Marvin Saraum of the Lapu-Lapu City Homicide Section, said the victim was watching television inside his house when a certain Jinesses and his wife arrived, looking for the victim’s brother Jesus Berdin.

The victim talked with Jinesses outside but around five minutes later, several bursts of gunfire were heard. The victim’s live-in partner, Jacky Inoc, came out of the house and found the victim already wounded. She rushed Berdin to the hospital but he died.

SPO4 Jose Ruel Nalzaro, deputy chief of Pusok Police Station, said the victim had been involved in theft-related incidents in their area.
