UC nips DBTC, makes HS volley semis

THE University of Cebu (UC) Junior Webmasters will be joining the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), University of San Carlos (USC) and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in today’s round-robin semifinals of the Cesafi boys volleyball tournament.

This after they survived the relentless Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Baby Greywolves in three intense sets, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19 yesterday at the USC Main gym.

With the victory, UC, which finished second in Group A with 3-1 (win-loss) card will be taking on Group B leader USP-F while defending champions USJ-R which topped Group A battles the home team, USC in the crossover semis.

In girls play, defending champions Southwestern University (SWU) Baby Cobras pummeled UC, 25-9, 25-20 while the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu (SHS-ADC) Magis Eagles survived the USC Baby Warriors, 25-21, 22-25, 26-24.

In collegiate men’s action, the Spiking Cobras were as merciless as their girls counterparts as they defeated the winless UC Webmasters 25-18, 25-15, 25-14.
