A 33-YEAR-OLD man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself after having a quarrel with his wife over money at around 7 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Tubod, Sibonga town in southern Cebu.
The victim identified as Garry Sarda succumbed to a gunshot wound in his left temple.
PO1 Rommie Cui of Sibonga Police Station said that prior to the incident, Sarda was confronted by his wife for allegedly borrowing P16,000 from his brother-in-law Joelito Villarmino without her knowledge. The wife said she only learned of it from Villarmino.
The fuming Sarda took a gun and looked for his brother-in-law. After failing to locate his brother-in-law, Sarda instead shot himself in the head.
Recovered from the crime scene were the .38 revolver allegedly used by Sarda.
The relatives, however, were convinced that no foul play was involved in Sarda’s death, said PO1 Cui.
