A DRUG surrenderer is now being hunted by the police after he stabbed 63-year-old Genoroso Quirante, a former barangay captain of Bulyugan, Dumanjug, Cebu.

Genoroso sustained two stab wounds in his chest after he was attacked by Demetrio Tuanzon.

SPO3 Florencio Clarion of Dumanjug Police Station said the victim was sponsoring a prayer activity at a chapel in their barangay around 9 p.m. last Tuesday. Several minutes later, Quirante went out of the chapel to get snacks but suddenly the suspect on board a motorcycle arrived and stabbed him.

His neighbors immediately brought him to Carcar District Hospital for treatment. Quirante luckily survived the attack.

SPO3 Clarion said they are still establishing the motive behind the attack.
