Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III said he does not see anything wrong with President Rodrigo Duterte making allies with China and Russia.

However, he said that making new allies does not mean cutting ties with old allies.

“I don’t see any complications on making friends with Russia and China. But let us not also abandon old ally like the USA,” Davide said.

The governor said he understands that Duterte wants to pursue independent form of policy for the country but USA has been a major ally of the country for decades.
