WITH a few games left in the basketball tournament, the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) is looking to broadcast the continuing volleyball action on television.
This information was relayed by volleyball tournament director Dr. Danny Villadolid to Cebu Daily News yesterday.
Villadolid said that before the season started, they were already planning to air the volleyball games to give more exposure to the players.
“Maybe during the championship games in the college level. I will still consult the commissioner regarding this matter,” Villadolid said. “It’s also possible that the secondary games will be included.”
Should it push through, the games will be aired over Aksyon TV 41.
The prospect of having volleyball games aired on television brought joy to some of the league’s finest players.
“I’m happy if it will happen in this season,” said reigning league Most Valuable Player (MVP) Floremel “Dij” Rodriguez. “It will be more fun since our families and friends who want to watch the game on TV can already do so.”
University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) middle blocker Tovya Kaiko Galeon believes that a television coverage would bolster the confidence of the players.
“It can really boost our confidence because we will be seen on TV. It makes us proud,” she said.
Spiker Hove Dela Silva of the University of San Carlos (USC) also shares the same sentiments with Galeon calling it as an opportunity for their family to see them play even though they are far from home.
