CEBU CITY—A policeman and two other persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sambag 2 in Cebu City past 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
PO1 Gem Querubin, Chas Chavit and Sharon Abella were detained at the Cebu City Police Office’s stockade pending filing of charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Querubin, 33, who is currently assigned at the Mambaling Police Station in Cebu City, will also face an administrative investigation before the National Police Commission, said Senior Insp. Narolf Tan of the Cebu City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force.
Querubin denied that he into illegal drugs.
But Tan said their operation was intended for Abella and not Querubin.
When they barged into Abella’s house, Tan said they were surprised to see Querubin. “We got a pack of shabu from him (Querubin),” Tan said.
