THOSE who are going to celebrate the long weekend and All Souls’ and All Saints’ Days are advised to bring their rain gear as intermittent rains are expected until November 2.

Romeo Aguirre, weather specialist for Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) Mactan said that weather would be cloudy with light to moderate rains.

“This is caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in Eastern Visayas affecting Visayas and Mindanao,” Aguirre told Cebu Daily News.

The presence of ITCZ affecting Visayas and Mindanao also signifies that it’s almost transition period from southwest monsoon to northeast monsoon winds.

Northeast monsoon, which is also called as “Amihan,” brings rainfall and cold winds from Siberia.

Aguirre also said it would also be possible that a low pressure area might form in the coming days, which might become a typhoon.

Aguirre said that in November, they were expecting at least one typhoon to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
