A drug suspect with several theft cases was shot dead Friday afternoon in Barangay Lanipga, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Jenie Reuyan, 38, died instantly after sustaining gunshot wounds in the body. Witnesses, however, failed to identify the perpetrators who wore bonnets.

Senior Insp. William Homoc, station commander of Consolacion Police Station, said the victim had surrendered to their office in October after being included in the list of drug personalities.

Homoc believed Reuyan’s killing might have something to do with his involvement in theft or illegal drugs trade.

Hours later, police arrested a certain William Maglasang of Sitio Lumbang, Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion at past 11 p.m. in Barangay Jugan during a buy-bust operation.

Maglasang allegedly is one of the top ten drug personalities in Consolacion.

Homoc said he already surrendered in July but returned to selling illegal drugs.
