CEBU CITY–It’s final.

The swimwear presentation of Miss Universe 2017 will be held at Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu in Lapu-Lapu City, said Arthur Lo, the hotel’s corporate liaison officer.

“When talks about the possible hosting of Miss Universe here in the Philippines came about, we immediately contacted our local tourism office and in Manila because we feel that this is just once in a lifetime opportunity for the country. We want to support our tourism,” said Lo.

He said the resort will spend more than $1 million for the improvements of the hotel in time for the hosting of the one-day event.

Justin Uy, chairman and president of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu, said this is a chance for Cebu to be showcased as a premiere destination.

“This is not solely for the company but we are doing this for Cebu to put the island on the map again and to erase negative remarks about us,” said Uy.
