FIGHTERS from Team Cebu City Niños will battle elite kickboxers from around the country in the National Muay Thai Championship 2016 on Dec. 16 at the Philippine Sports Complex in Pasig City.

Muay Thai Association of the Philippines-Visayas head Master Benigno ’Ekin’ R. Caniga Jr. is sending eight of his top fighters, headed by his nephew and international double gold medalist Ken “Shaolin” Caniga, to the said meet.

“We have a small team because we want quality over quantity. These young kickboxers trained hard for months and they will be ready,” said Team Cebu head coach Mary Ann Durado.

Also included in the team is mixed martial arts veteran Roel ‘Akiyama’ Rosauro.

“Rosauro will be our bet in the seniors division. Hopefully, his vast experience in MMA can help him win the gold,” Durado said.
