‘Chairs of Joy’ a huge success

By: Glendale G. Rosal November 20,2016 - 09:45 PM

Close to 500 runners answered the starting gun, making the first-ever “Chairs of Joy” a huge success yesterday at the Cebu Business Park.

The footrace, spearheaded by Cebuana Olympian Mary Joy Tabal, aimed to raise funds for the construction of school chairs for the Barangay Guba Elementary School.

Though exact figures were not immediately known, Tabal expressed confidence that the targeted amount was met based on the number of participants.

Race proceeds will be matched by Rotary Club of Cebu and Motorace Philippines.

Tabal is a native of Guba, a mountain barangay in Cebu City.
