Magis Eagle bags first gold for Cebu in BP Nationals

SACRED Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s (SHS-AdC) Moira Frances Erediano won Cebu’s first gold medal in the ongoing 2016 Batang Pinoy National Finals in Tagum City yesterday.

Erediano, who competes for Cebu Province, topped the girls’ 10-13 years old cycling competition before the opening ceremonies unfolded yesterday at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex.

Erediano finished the race in 11 minutes and 40 seconds, beating Bukidnon’s Maria Alexie Guinhuran, who finished second with a time of 13:01, and fellow Cebu Province cyclist Jeana Mariel Cañete, who placed third.

Erediano’s teammate Orlando Sabijon and Karen Manayon won bronze medals in the boys and girls 16-17 years old categories, respectively.

Manayon won another bronze in the girls 14-15 years old category.
