A woman, who was driving a motorcycle, died on the spot after she was run over by a dump truck at 2:37 p.m. on Wednesday along A.C. Cortes Avenue in Mandaue City.
She was identified as Mariliz Decierto, 35, and a resident of Barangay Basak in Lapu-Lapu City based on the driver’s license found in her wallet.
Witnesses said that Decierto was driving a motorcycle and was heading to Mandaue City from Lapu-Lapu City.
Mandaue Traffic investigator PO1 Ryan Bintoy said that based on their initial investigation, Decierto was right behind the dump truck when the truck suddenly stopped causing her to hit the rear part of the truck, lost her balance and got run over by the truck’s rear tires.
The driver is currently detained at the Mandaue City Police Office.
