FARE BREAK

A student who wasn’t a local was keen to ride a passenger jeepney if only to save on fare money.

When a jeepney stopped in front of her, she asked the dispatcher if the jeepney would pass by “Tres,” and the man said yes.

The girl found out later on that the dispatcher meant “Pier Tres” or third pier instead of “Tres de Abril” where she was staying. The dispatcher returned her fare and told her to take the right jeepney that was headed to her route.

SCREAMING MATCH

Jeepney passengers who were caught in traffic at N. Bacalso Street had a front-row view of a young couple who forgot to close the windows of their vehicle.

The couple had a screaming match, with the girl threatening to get out of the car and the guy trying to keep his cool by smoking.

There was not a cop in sight who could have mediated between the two.

PREOCCUPIED

A man barged into a convenience store and bought two bags of ice while talking on his cell phone.

The man paid for his items and left sans the two bags of ice, and the cashier didn’t notice since she was preoccupied with another customer.

It was only when she noticed that the counter was soaked with ice water that she realized that one customer forgot to bring his order with him.
