Velez PT, Elevens off to hot start in City Hoops

VELEZ PT Alumni and the USC-NC Elevens posted separate wins at the start of the Tough Gear Sportswear City Hoops Basketball League last Friday night at the Visayas Glass Gym in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Velez rolled past the Maroons, 57-51, behind Mark Panerio, who fired 18 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Ariel Armenion spearheaded the Maroons with 14 points.

In the other game, the Elevens escaped the Kamayan Pilipino Home Cuisine Archers, 62-59.

Joel Lee Yu led the Elevens with 19 points.

The Archers’ Merbien Dedace piled up 28 points.
