A traffic build up is reported on a portion of the Cebu South Road in Barangay Balud, San Fernando caused by several felled branches of acacia trees that line the highway in the town, located 29.3 kilometers south of Cebu City, police said.

PO1 Ronneto Lantape of the San Fernando Police Station said that the traffic build up started at around 9: 22 p.m. as strong winds blew through the town. He said policemen have been sent to the area to manage traffic.

“We’re not sure if the (felled) branches are huge. As of now, we’re still trying to get response from our personnel deployed in the area. We already alerted the San Fernando’s command center and the San Fernando Fire Station for assistance,” Lantape added.

Lantape also confirmed that brownout was being experienced in some portions of San Fernando. He said that as of now, they were still trying to figure if it might have also been caused by the felled branches of the acacia trees.
