THE PROFESSIONAL Boxing Officials of Cebu (PBOC) inducted its newly elected officials last Dec. 30 in a formal ceremony held at the FelJobs Office in Mandaue City.

Inducted by Court of Appeals Justice Gabby Inglis was International boxing judge and radio broadcaster Edward Ligas, who is the new president of PBOC.

PBOC’s new vice president is Edgar Olalo, the treasurer is Arnie Najera and secretary is Tony Pesons, who also serves as the sergeant-at-arms.

The boards of directors are Romar Embodo, Noel Flores, Teddy Alivio and Cipriano Gonzales.

Among the highlights of PBOC last year was its move to oust Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chief of Boxing Chairman Dr. Nasser Cruz because of alleged corruption.

“We will continue to advocate as part of social responsibilities to clean GAB as a regulating agency to eradicate graft and corruption, especially against the boxing chief,” said Ligas.
