CEBUANO netter Chad Connor Cuizon mounted a sizzling comeback but came up short in the end as he lost to top-ranked Tennielle Madis 4-5(0), 5-4 (8), 1-4 in the final round of the 28th Andrada Cup yesterday in Malate, Manila.

The nine-year-old Cuizon fought neck-and-neck with Madis before the latter came up alive to take the opening set.

Cuizon picked up the pace in the second round to force a decider. Cuizon seemed to have run out of gas in the final set, allowing Madis to escape with the crown.

Cuizon booked a final seat with easy wins in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. He first won over Joshua Hidalgo 4-0, 4-0, in the quarters then tripped semifinal opponent Marielle Jarata, 4-0, 4-1.
