BEGINNING today, January 24, 2014, applicants for clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) can just go online instead of lining up for a queue in the bureau’s sites. According to a statement from the Department of Justice, which now runs the NBI system, applicants can log on to www.doj.gov.ph/nbi orwww.nbi.gov.ph to register. “With the implementation of the NBI system, we shall continue to roll-out and implement solutions to progressively eliminate queues and simplify processes,” Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said. “Online application is the logical next step after the switch.” The NBI Clearance system is under the National Justice Information System which would link and share information among the sectors under the Judiciary.
