Ginebra upsets Alaska, advances to semis

The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings overcame a twice-to-win disadvantage with a victory over the second-ranked Alaska Aces, 108-97, in the do-or-die quarterfinal match of the PBA Philippine Cup Tuesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

Former Alaska Aces playmaker LA Tenorio had a career-high 31 points to lead the Gin Kings, who will advance to the semifinals opposite the Star Hotshots.

Calvin Abueva led the Aces, who had a twice-to-beat advantage for finishing no. 2 after the elimination round, with 29 points.
