Broncos nip Stallions, advance to Elite hoop finals
THE BRONCOS booked their seat in the finals of the Elite Basketball Club – Toledo after escaping past the Stallions, 88-82, in the semis last Friday night at the CEDC Multipurpose Gym in Toledo City.
Jorge Alicaway was the high man for the Broncos with 26 points while Ryan Ronald Tuburan added 21 markers. Reynaldo Algarme also contributed big with a double-double performance of 16 points and 14 boards.
Alique Visitacion was impressive on both ends of the floor but his efforts were not enough to carry his fourth-seed team to an upset of the Broncos. He scored 26 points while his teammate Clint Cayang scattered 24 and pulled down nine rebounds.
The other semifinals match between the second-seed Huskies and number three Bobcats will be played next week.
