DEFENDING men’s open champion Leylam FC outlasted the Don Bosco United FC, 3-1, in Group A of the 18th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Don Bosco Technological Center (DBTC) football field in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City yesterday.
With a record of four wins, one draw and no defeat, Leylam FC advanced to the semifinal round along with top seed Samba FC.
The University of San Carlos (USC) thwarted the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 4-1, in another Group A game.
Meanwhile, Erco Bro FC and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) settled for a 2-2 draw in Group B action.
Suzuki FC won by default against the LapuLapu Jets, who only had three players suiting up.
