OMEGA Boxing Gym’s Kenny Demecillo looks to snatch a second regional belt when he battles fellow Filipino fighter Mark Anthony Geraldo today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Fighting for the first time abroad, Demecillo is eyeing the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental bantamweight title and at the same time trying to stay unbeaten in his last five fights.

Demecillo is the reigning World Boxing Federation Asia Pacific bantamweight champion who has 12 wins (7 knockouts), three losses and two draws.

His last defeat came in Feb. 14, 2015, a unanimous decision loss to Jetro Pabustan in Cagayan de Oro City.

Demecillo, known for being a durable fighter, bounced back from the loss by racking up two straight wins before settling for a draw against Edrin Dapudong on Dec. 12, 2015 in Davao City. He then chalked up a split decision victory over Eugene Lagos at Robinsons Galleria in Cebu City before nailing a UD victory over Jestoni Autida last December at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

While Demecillo is enjoying some sort of a surge, the 25-year-old Geraldo (33W-7L-3D) is looking to get back on track as he suffered a loss by technical knockout to Jeson Umbal last July in Singapore.

In yesterday’s weigh-in for the 10-round duel, Demecillo tipped the scales at 117 pounds, while Geraldo weighed 118 lbs.

The Demecillo-Geraldo showdown is one of the undercards in the card dubbed as “Clash of Champions II”.

Facing off in the main event are Hong Kong’s Rex Tso and Japan’s Hirofumi Mukai.

Tso (20W-0L-12KOs) is the reigning WBO international and WBC Asia super flyweight champion, while Mukai (13W-4L-3D-3KOs) is the WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight champion.
