FILIPINO boxer Romero Duno will return home to a hero’s welcome following his sensational second-round knockout win over Mexican Christian “Chimpa” Gonzales in Los Angeles, California, USA last Sunday.

Nicknamed “Ruthless”, Duno will arrive in General Santos City on March 22.

Duno, the prized stalwart of Sanman Boxing Gym, snatched the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Intercontinental lightweight belt by knocking out the erstwhile unbeaten Gonzales in the 57-second mark of the second round.

Duno, who now has 13 wins, with 12 knockouts, and just one loss, will be accompanied by Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil and Sanman CFO Dexter Tan.

Duno trained with Cebuano former world champion Rodel “Batang Mandaue” Mayol in the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles since December.
