Unbeaten Rams nip Stallions in Elite tilt
DHARRYL Balabas scored a game-high 22 points in his season debut Friday night as the Rams slipped past the Stallions, 65-61, in the Elite Basketball Club-Cebu Season 8 at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Guard Ronnie Tenebro and Mark Lubiano added 12 and 11 points, respectively for the unbeaten Rams’ third straight victory.
The Rams opened with a 15-5 spurt but the Stallions slowly chipped at their deficit and finally tied the score at endgame.
Lubiano, coming off from a big game in their last outing, then converted his go-ahead layup before Tenebro drained his charity shots for the win.
Trystan Chu paced the Stallions with 16 points while Jerry Aloba and Jay Tampus tallied 11 and 10, respectively.
In the second game, the Tigers nipped the Sharks, 79-73 with Niño Belande scoring 30 points with 11 rebounds. James Cabilino added 25 markers.
Prince Malana paced the Sharks with 21 points and nine boards while Cebu 1st District Representative Samsam Gullas chipped in 19.
