BOXER-turned-marathoner Ian Refuela dominated the 21-kilometer open division of the Break The Silence Run yesterday.
Refuela, a former boxer of the Southwestern University, crossed the finish line at the SM Seaside City Cebu in one hour, 16 minutes and 42 seconds to win the 21k crown.
Paul James Zafico finished second place with a time of 1:19.57 while Andy Tuñacao claimed third place, clocking 1:20.55.
In the distaff side, triathlete Amale Jopson emerged on top as she clocked 1:50.57 while Jelly Rose Casquejo (1:57.49) and Jane-jane Ong (2:00.06) were the runners up, respectively.
Winners in the 12k race were Leo Sayson and Reinhardt Pañibon.
Sayson finished in 45:30 for the men’s crown while Pañibon clocked 57:16 to bag the women’s title.
Junior triathlete Karen Andrea Manayon topped the 6k female category with a time of 25:32 while her teammate Andrew Kim Remolino dominated the men’s category with a time of 21:37.
3k winners were Keith Praizo (11:28) and Jenalyn Barguio (12:10) while Keith Requero (17:47) and Eva Marie Noya (31:32) were the champions of the 3k PWD category.
