CEBU City residents and visitors were advised by police to keep their belongings close to them lest they be victimized by the “Salisi gang.”

“Be careful. Be vigilant. They are always looking for some weak points,” said Senior Insp. Jacinto Mandal Jr., Mabolo Police Precinct chief.

A Japanese national lost his bag to thieves inside a mall in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

Mandal said it’s possible that the suspects are members of the Salisi gang.

He said they intend to gather people in different areas to inform them about the gang’s presence and the means by which thieves victimize people.
