Police told to verify drug inventory

THE Police Regional Office (PRO-7) asked the PNP’s crime laboratory to conduct an inventory of all illegal drugs stored in their facility.

Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, PRO-7 chief, said he was ordered by PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa to inspect the drugs seized from their operations in the region to ensure that no police officers will use the drugs in the lab.

“I am waiting for the report from our crime laboratory,” he said in an interview yesterday.

The request came following the arrest of Supt. Lito Cabamongan in Alabang.

Cabamongan, chief of the PNP Crime Lab unit in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs last March 30.

He repeatedly denied using illegal drugs but initially tested positive for illegal drug use.

Cabamongan will undergo confirmatory test sometime soon.
