MAO BA?

CRIMINAL LAB

An avid radio listener commented that Supt. Ma. Cristina Nobleza had the perfect position for her predicament.

“Sakto gyud na ang crime lab siya gi-assign kay ’criminal lab-er’ (lover) man siya (It’s fitting that she is assigned to the crime lab because she is a criminal lover),” alluding to the relationship between Nobleza and alleged Abu Sayyaf bandit Renierlo Lou Dongon.

HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE

Of the 11 Abu Sayyaf members who entered Bohol, eight had been killed in two encounters with government troopers.

A police official said it took battalions of soldiers to hunt down the bandits in Mindanao. “But here in Bohol, it is easy,” the police official said.

The official added that like in basketball, “home-court advantage” is really a factor.

“Their ba ttleground is in Jolo, not Bohol. But to survive that long, even if they are not familiar with the place, is significant,” he said.

SEARCH FOR THE LORD

April 28, 2017 marks the 452th anniversary since the image of the Sto. Niño de Cebu was found by Spanish soldier Juan Camus in one of the burnt houses in Cebu City.

This year’s celebration is highlighted by the transfer of the image to the Cebu provincial jail, the cathedral, San Nicolas Parish, and Birhen sa Lindogon Church in Simala, Sibonga.

A church official called on the faithful to earnestly search for the Lord in their lives, no matter how busy and cluttered they may be.
