AFTER a recent record-setting, 24-kilometer swim from Dumaguete to Siquijor, Ingemar “Pinoy Aquaman” Macarine was at it again last Sunday, as he swam sans fanfare, the 12.45k distance from Panggangan Island of the Municipality of Calape to Sandingan Port of Sandingan Island in Loon, Bohol for his 27th successful open water swim.

The 39-year old Macarine, an avowed environmentalist, finished the swim in five hours and 11 minutes.

Macarine said that it was his second time to swim the route. He revealed that the initial plan was just to swim for three hours but since the conditions seemed to be favorable, he decided to swim the full 12.45k stretch with the help of navigators Ireneo Cuabo, Agapito Mapatac and Ben Omusora.
The swim was part of his ongoing preparations for a planned longer distance swim this August.
