SEAN Mark Malayan dealt a huge heartache to Angelo Ariola after the former barely escaped with a victory to be crowned king of the Kiosk Billliard Sinulog 9-Ball Handicapping Tournament over the weekend at the Kiosk 8-Ball Billiards Hall along Osmeña Boulevard.
Malayan, who bested 14 other qualifiers in the round-of-16 sudden death championship round, managed to win eight racks against Ariola’s seven to escape with the close win and the championship title.
Malayan received a trophy and the P20,000 top prize of the tournament that was supported by Engr. Greg Pacres and Amado Ostrea. Ariola settled for the P8,000 cash for his second-place finish.
